Legacy: The History of Skiing

The History of Skiing

We have skate skis, alpine skis, telemark skis, nordic skis, snowboards, monoboards, and more. Ever wonder how it all began?

A new documentary by Culture Films, "Legacy: The History of Skiing," details how what was merely a means of transportation became our favorite pasttime.

From wooden Norwegian skis to Austria to the Americas, this sport has quite a history. Thankfully we no longer brake with a stick between our legs.

The Future of the Valley Floor

The Plum crew followed locals to Denver for the Colorado Supreme Court hearing on the future of the valley floor that took place Jan. 22.

There, the Town of Telluride and SMVC stated their opinions about the Town of Telluride's authority to acquire the valley through the process of eminent domain. The court's decision probably won't be announced for two to four months, but this is what some of the attendees had to say on the issue.
