Using Art to Represent Science

September 3rd, 2008 2:48pm

Part scientist, part artist Duncan Mackenzie explains his latest solo exhibit - an installation that presents a new way to imagine our planet. His art represents the connection between the earth's orbit and a person's location. Using nature, the earth's and sun's rotations and hundreds of webcams around the world, his calendar uses an artistic format to present science.

Duncan's installation is featured at the Ah Haa School for the Arts, while his recently completed sundial is a permanent feature in the Mountain Village core.
