Cajun Festival: A Locals' Fave

Combine Cajun cuisine with cocktails and great live music by Trombone Shorty and Buckwheat Zydeco, and you have the Telluride Cajun Festival. The only thing to say is "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!"

Trombone Shorty also played recently in our sister market, Plum Vail.

Whether it's a deviled egg or a sweetbreads sandwich, he brings crazy twists to traditional foods and showed off his skills at the 2008 Telluride Festival of the Arts.

Do mushrooms come to mind when you think of Lizard Head Pass? Well, they do for the director of the Telluride Mushroom Festival, John Sir Jesse. Here, he and a few other mushroom hunters hop on the Telluride Insitute's biodiesel bus, "The Greasy Goose," to head up the pass on search for the elusive fungi.
