The History of Skiing

"Legacy: The History of Skiing," by Culture Films, tells the story behind the favorite pasttime of many a winter town.

We have skate skis, alpine skis, telemark skis, nordic skis, snowboards, monoboards, and more. Ever wonder how it all began?

A new documentary by Culture Films, "Legacy: The History of
Skiing," details how what was merely a means of transportation became our
favorite pasttime.

From wooden Norwegian skis to Austria to the Americas, this sport has
quite a history. Thankfully we no longer brake with a stick between our
legs.
