Expanding Childcare for Children Under 5

Federal funding doesn't cover childcare for kids under 5 years old, so Cathy James and Jill Burchmore from Bright Futures have proposed plans to expand early child care and education for San Miguel County. Voters will decide on the issue during the November election.

Telluride Citizen of the Year

Local resident Kathy Green just received Telluride's Citizen of the Year award. She's been on the Ecology Commission, has "packed heat" as a park ranger and has seen Telluride's changes through since the '70s.

The winner of this award is given $5,000 to the nonprofit of their choice, and Kathy has chosen to give hers to the Ah Haa School for the Arts.

Tibetan Mycology with Daniel Winkler
