Mountainfilm Festival brought filmmakers, athletes, conservationists and activists together for a weekend celebration of indomitable spirit.
Some of the movie highlights included "Red Gold," made by local filmmakers; Alex Gibney's two documentaries, "Taxi to the Dark Side" and "Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson"; and an IMAX movie about the Grand Canyon.
Plus, the Moving Mountains Symposium attracted brilliant speakers, such as Dr. Peter H. Gleick, co-founder and president of the Pacific Institute, ocean conservationists Sylvia Earle and Alexandra Cousteau, and inspiring activist Azzam Alwash.
