Rita Rosenberg is a chef and author, and a fungophile. She talks on MNN about her book, her passion for mushrooms, and the Telluride Mushroom Festival.
Rita is my cousin, and I'm proud of her! She had just spent a month visiting me in Eugene, Oregon, where she had been on a previous visit several years ago to our own annual Mushroom Festival (always held the last Sunday in October). That charming felt hat that Rita wore during the interview she had bought during a visit to the Oregon Coast. It raised attention everywhere she went in Oregon!

I was a vendor at the Samish Island Arts Festival (Washington state) and had the pleasure of meeting Rita and selling her one of my hats. After she returned home to Tucson I recieved a phone call from her requesting two more hats! I live in Bellingham, Washington where I work with raw silk and merino wool fibers to create a variety of whimsical and unique felted products from hats, slippers and raw silk scarves to gnomes, elves and other figures. I am working on a website, but for now can be reached through www.etsy.com - search for "wildfelter". ( I have only one scarf listed, but will be putting more on in time.)The hat I am currently working on is a white spotted red mushroom...and no, I didn't know until the video was forwarded to me at Rita's request, that she had anything to do with mushrooms! Rita truely rocks!
